Rooted Reflections

Why Redwood Healing Connections?

When people first hear the name Redwood Healing Connections, they often ask, “Why redwoods?”

The answer begins with a simple observation from nature.

Redwood trees are among the tallest and most resilient trees in the world. Many people assume their strength comes from having deep roots. Surprisingly, redwoods have relatively shallow root systems. What makes them so resilient is that their roots spread outward and intertwine with the roots of neighboring trees, creating a network of support beneath the surface.

I have often thought about how similar this is to human healing.

Many of us are taught to be independent, self-sufficient, and strong. We may believe that healing means figuring everything out on our own. Yet when people experience trauma, chronic stress, loss, relationship challenges, or major life transitions, they often find themselves feeling disconnected—from themselves, from others, and sometimes from the parts of life that once brought them meaning.

Over the years, I have worked with individuals, couples, and families navigating difficult experiences. While every person’s story is unique, one theme appears again and again: healing often begins when connection is restored.

Connection to our emotions.

Connection to our bodies.

Connection to supportive relationships.

Connection to parts of ourselves that may have been ignored, criticized, or pushed aside.

This does not mean healing is quick or easy. Growth rarely happens overnight. Like a redwood tree, meaningful change tends to occur gradually. It develops through consistent support, safety, and the willingness to keep showing up, even when the path forward feels uncertain.

That belief is at the heart of Redwood Healing Connections.

My goal is not to “fix” people. I do not believe people are broken. Instead, therapy offers a space to slow down, explore your experiences with curiosity and compassion, and develop new ways of relating to yourself and others.

Whether you are navigating anxiety, trauma, ADHD, relationship challenges, emotional overwhelm, or simply feeling stuck, therapy can provide an opportunity to reconnect with yourself and build the support needed for lasting growth.

Just as redwoods thrive through connection, I believe people do too.

Thank you for being here. I hope this space offers encouragement, insight, and practical tools to support your own journey of healing and growth.

Warmly,
