Meet Alicia

Helping people reconnect with themselves, their relationships, and what matters most.

Hello, I’m Alicia Scholl, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) and the founder of Redwood Healing Connections.

I believe healing happens in connection—with ourselves, with others, and with the parts of our story that may have been overlooked, misunderstood, or carried alone for far too long.

Many of the people I work with are capable, caring, and hardworking. From the outside, they often appear to be managing well. Yet internally, they may feel overwhelmed, emotionally exhausted, disconnected, or stuck in patterns they cannot seem to change despite their best efforts.

Whether you’re navigating anxiety, trauma, ADHD, relationship challenges, chronic stress, life transitions, or simply feeling disconnected from yourself, therapy can provide a space to slow down, gain insight, and begin moving toward meaningful change.

My Approach

My approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in the belief that people make sense within the context of their experiences and relationships.

Rather than asking, “What’s wrong with you?” I often find it more helpful to ask, “What happened to you?” and “What has helped you survive?”

Together, we’ll explore the patterns, emotions, beliefs, and experiences that may be influencing your present-day struggles. My goal is not to fix you, because I don’t believe people are broken. Instead, therapy offers an opportunity to better understand yourself, strengthen emotional regulation, and create new ways of relating to yourself and others.

I integrate trauma-informed, attachment-based approaches that support both emotional insight and nervous system regulation, drawing from Internal Family Systems (IFS), EMDR-informed interventions, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), somatic practices, and polyvagal-informed concepts.

My Experience

Over the course of my career, I have worked in nonprofit and private practice settings supporting individuals, couples, families, and parents facing a wide range of challenges.

My professional experience includes working in a residential substance use treatment center, where I provided therapy for individuals recovering from addiction, facilitated therapeutic groups, and coordinated weekend family programming focused on healing relationships, rebuilding trust, and helping families understand the impact of addiction and recovery.

I have also worked extensively with individuals and families impacted by trauma, relational challenges, anxiety, life stressors, and significant transitions. These experiences have reinforced my belief that healing rarely happens in isolation and that supportive relationships play a powerful role in growth and resilience.

Why Redwood?

Redwood Healing Connections was inspired by the wisdom of redwood trees.

Although redwoods are among the tallest trees in the world, their strength comes not from deep individual roots but from wide, interconnected root systems that support and strengthen one another.

In many ways, human healing follows a similar pattern.

Experiences such as trauma, chronic stress, and relational wounds can leave people feeling disconnected from themselves and others. Healing often begins when connection is restored. Through supportive relationships and emotionally safe environments, we can begin to reconnect with ourselves, build resilience, and grow in meaningful ways.

A Little Beyond the Therapy Room

Outside of my work as a therapist, I value time in nature, meaningful relationships, lifelong learning, and opportunities for reflection and growth. I believe healing is not only about reducing symptoms—it is also about creating a life that feels connected, authentic, and aligned with what matters most.
